Westknits Hiberknitalong Kit 2023 no

We’ve had a few requests for kits for the upcoming Westknits Hiberknitalong 2023. We are reusing some colour schemes we did up for last years HKAL, and will try to add some more in the next few weeks.

The pattern for the Glittering Snowscape Shawl can be purchased here, though knit along officially starts 26th December.

Kits will come with 5 different coloured skeins of yarn that all complement each other.

Yarn details: 

Fiori (Italian for flowers) is a beautifully soft hand dyed sock weight yarn inspired by Australian colours. Semi solid shade & multi coloured shades.

A beautiful blend of Australian extra fine merino with nylon gives this yarn a lovely soft touch and added durability. 

80% Australian extra fine merino / 20% nylon

Machine washable

Sock wool / 4ply

100 gram skein / 400 metres

3.25mm needle 

About the pattern:

Select five colors of fingering weight yarn and enjoy a collage of textures and eyelet stitch patterns. The various eyelet stitch patterns catch the glittering light and yield a lovely lightweight fabric with effortless drape. Each section is simple to knit with relaxing rows of knits and purls. Begin with lightest color at the top center of the shawl and fade your colors together with smooth stripes that help blend the colors. The faded color transitions and textural variety make this project addicting and mesmerizing to knit. The final border is knit sideways with the darkest color along with little eyelet stripes from the other four colors. This snowscape of stitches is sure to keep you entertained and comforted throughout the Hiberknitting season.
